Oral Language Assessment

Assessing oral language proficiency for out-of-school youth is not an easy task due to high mobility, lack of structured environment and limited instructional content among other factors. However, assessing oral language ability allows the MEP to formulate an individual educational plan for language learning. The following oral language assessment instruments have been used successfully in SOSY consortium states with this population. They are included on this website as a resource for states looking for instruments to assess out-of-school youth oral language proficiency.
