SOSOSY is a Consortium Incentive Grant funded by the Office of Migrant Education (OME) at the United States Department of Education (USDE) to build capacity in states with a growing secondary-aged migrant out-of-school youth population.

SOSOSY WORKS WITH CONSORTIUM GRANTS TO:

• Identify and recruit all out-of-school youth within the state,
• Design a well formulated process for accessing the different needs of out-of-school youth
• Develop appropriate service delivery models for those youth,
• Share information and resources,
• Identify and develop curriculum and instructional materials, and
• Provide professional development to support SOSOSY activities.

• The OSY Educational Outcomes Table is designed to help interpret data from the OSY Profile. The table provides service examples that meet an out-of-school youth’s individual needs and educational outcomes. The OSY Educational Outcomes Table, followed by an array of OSY Service Inputs and Methods for each identified educational outcome is meant to provide a wide range of service options for all OSY. Using this tool, service providers can readily design an educational service plan for students that is based on their current level of English proficiency, their previous educational history, either in the U.S. or in their home country, and the student’s access to transportation.
